1939 -2025 Resident of Walnut Creek Carol Zeiss Green, of Walnut Creek, CA passed away in February of 2025. She is survived by her three children and their spouses Julie (Phillip), Rick (Patrick) and Janet (Paul). She is also survived by her brother and his spouse, Ray Zeiss (Joyce) of Chicago, IL. She has cherished surviving in law relations, Henry Pollak and Ann Marie Zeiss. Carol has five delightful grandchildren in California and Colorado: Sonia, Sandro, Cecilia, Eliza and Spencer. Her beloved husband of 49 years, Rich Green, predeceased her in 2013. Her dear siblings, Barb Pollak and Rich Zeiss also predeceased her.
Carol was born in Chicago, IL to Dr. Chester Raymond Zeiss and Helen Torpe Zeiss. She graduated from Morgan Park High School and Northwestern University in Illinois.
Carol moved to California in 1962 where she established her life and family and became a published author of children’s books and faith articles. She was always in community wherever she resided, whether as a sorority sister in Chi Omega, a member of her many writer’s groups, a singer in her gospel choir, a Sunday school teacher, and as a regular and very active faith leader in her churches. First, at La Canada Presbyterian Church in Southern California and then for many decades at Community Presbyterian Church in Northern Calif.
