The Gophers men’s basketball program kept up its busy April in the NCAA transfer portal on Sunday.

Northern Colorado guard Langston Reynolds committed to Minnesota, becoming the fifth incoming player for new coach Niko Medved. The Denver native and to-be-senior has one year of eligibility remaining for the 2025-26 season.

At 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, Reynolds’ best attribute appears to be his scoring ability. He averaged 16.0 points on 59% from the field —which ranked 20th in the country — as well as 67% from the line and 41% from 3-point range last season. He also put up 5.6 rebounds, 3.4 rebounds and 2.7 turnovers per game.

Reynolds has been a strong, athletic finisher near the rim, but only averaged 1.6 3-point attempts last season. He showed huge development across his three years and last season helped lead Northern Colorado earn a share of the Big Sky Conference regular-season championship.

Minnesota is now down to five open roster spots for next season.

Football team picks up two more commitments

The Gophers football program picked up two commitments from prep receivers over the weekend: Kai Meza of Draper, Utah, on Saturday night and Hayden Moore of Newberry, Fla.

Meza and Moore are the seventh and eighth pledges to Minnesota’s 2026 class and join fellow wideout Rico Blassingame of Tolleson, Ariz.

Meza, who is listed at 6 feet and 175 pounds, had offers from Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Utah, Washington State and others. He is considered a three-star recruit and the 15th best player in the state of Utah, according to 247Sports.

As a junior, Meza posted 46 receptions for 944 yards and 13 touchdowns at Corner Canyon, a powerhouse program which won the 6A state championship last season and has produced quarterbacks Zach Wilson (BYU) and Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss)

Hayes, who is listed at 6-1 and 190, had offers from Iowa, Vanderbilt, Boston College and others. He is pegged as a three-star recruit and the 105th best player in Florida.

Hayes had 51 catches for 982 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2024 and also played defense on a team that reached the 2A playoffs.

The Lynx have acquired Chicago’s first-round pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft outright in exchange for the No. 11 overall selection in Monday’s 2025 Draft.

Minnesota now has three selections in the 2025 WNBA Draft, No. 15 and No. 24 (second round), as well as No. 37 (third round) overall.
