


Adebowale A. Oyelekan, 40, of Lansing, is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 66-year-old Victoria Olson on Saturday afternoon at a Lansing Walmart.
Lansing police said Monday they found Olson about 2 p.m. Saturday with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of Walmart, 17625 Torrence Ave.
Olson was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital and her death was ruled a homicide by the Lake County, Indiana, coroner’s office, police said.
Oyelekan willl appear for an initial appearance at the Cook County courthouse in Markham, Lansing police said Monday. He was charged after the Police Department, the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, the Will County sheriff’s office and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit gathered evidence and witness statements, police said.
