Three road projects in Sterling Heights are scheduled to begin July 14, the Macomb County Department of Road said Tuesday in an update.

The projects include rehabilitation work for the Hayes Road bridge over the Clinton River, the Utica Road bridge the over Red Run Drain and Utica Road between Hayes Road and Metropolitan Parkway.

For the Hayes and Utica bridges, the Hayes-Utica intersection and Utica between the Utica Road bridge and Metropolitan Parkway will be closed during the work, according to the Roads Department.

Drivers are urged to follow the posted detours and seek alternate routes.

Officials said access to all residential and business properties will be maintained throughout the duration of the projects.

The projects include bridge epoxy overlays, deck patching, bridge railing replacement, approach work, pavement milling and asphalt resurfacing, and restoration work.

The roads department said work for the projects is expected to be complete this December.
