Young San Jose, CA

Phil Robicheau died peacefully May 27th, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family after a battle with colon cancer. His joyful spirit and zest for life will be dearly missed.

A proud native of West Seattle, Phil grew up in the Delridge neighborhood and attended Cooper School. He delivered papers for the Seattle Times with his older brother, and adored his younger sister. After graduating from West Seattle High in 1954, Phil created a neighborhood little league team, Phil’s Phillies, to share his passion for the game with local youth.

Phil played baseball for the Navy and Western Washington University. After teaching in Manson Washington, he moved to the Bay Area and taught elementary school for 30 years in Milpitas, including serving as the city’s first male kindergarten teacher. Phil brought the same joy and playfulness into raising his two children with his first wife Penny, and delighted in their pursuits.

Phil and his second wife Judi shared 36 memorable years together, traveled the world in retirement, and watched their grandchildren together, which brought them enormous joy.

Phil is survived by his wife Judi, son Chris, daughter Andrea, brother David, sister Yvonne, first wife Penny, stepson Erik, grandchildren Cody, Luke, Mia, and Ryan, and great granddaughter Emma.

Those who loved Phil are invited to his Celebration of Life on Friday, June 27th at 11am at Michael’s Golf Course & Events in Mountain View. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity.
