Nigel James Jr. scored 19 points and UConn coach Danny Hurley was ejected in the final second as Marquette (12-19, 7-13) hung on for the 68-62 victory Saturday in Milwaukee that prevented the No. 4 Huskies (27-4, 17-3) from winning a share of the Big East regular-season title.

UConn trailed 64-62 when the Huskies’ Silas Demary Jr. drove to the basket while being defended by Ben Gold. Demary’s shot hit the glass and the rim before the ball bounced off a couple of players and hit the floor.

Marquette’s Chase Ross won the battle for the loose ball and got fouled with one second left. Hurley argued the lack of a foul call and was whistled for two technical fouls before heading to the locker room while shaking his head.

Ross then made four of six free throws to account for the final margin.

UConn was attempting to tie No. 18 St. John’s for the Big East regular-season title.

Demary had 17 points for UConn and Tarris Reed Jr. had 16 points and 10 rebounds.

No. 1 Duke 76, No. 17 North Carolina 61: Cameron Boozer had 26 points, 15 rebounds and five assists to help the host Blue Devils beat the Tar Heels in a rivalry rematch.

Maliq Brown added 15 points as Duke (29-2, 17-1 ACC) led by a single possession early after halftime before taking over with 16 consecutive points in what ballooned to a 24-2 surge.

Derek Dixon had 17 points for North Carolina (24-7, 12-6), which trailed just 47-44 with 16:45 left.

No. 5 Florida 84, Kentucky 77: Thomas Haugh had 20 points and nine rebounds as the visiting Gators beat the Wildcats to end the regular season on an 11-game win streak.

Florida (25-6, 16-2 Southeastern Conference) is the No. 1 seed in next week’s SEC Tournament at Nashville, Tennessee.

Otega Oweh led Kentucky (19-12, 10-8) with 28 points, 17 in the first half.

No. 6 Iowa State 86, Arizona State 65: Joshua Jefferson, Tamin Lipsey and Milan Momcilovic had 16 points apiece and the host Cyclones No. scored 24 straight points to rout the Sun Devils.

Iowa State (25-6, 12-6 Big 12) outscored ASU 49-24 in the second half, the Sun Devils’ fewest points after half since they managed just 21 in a loss to the Cyclones last season.

Massamba Diop led ASU (16-15, 7-11) with 12 points but committed seven of their season-high 23 turnovers.

No. 7 Houston 82, Oklahoma State 75: Reserve Chase McCarty scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half and the visiting Cougars rallied to beat the Cowboys.

Kingston Flemings added 13 points, five rebounds and nine assists for Houston (26-5 overall, 14-4 Big 12 Conference).

Anthony Roy scored 18 points for Oklahoma State (18-13, 6-12).

WOMEN

No. 1 UConn 84, Georgetown 39: Serah Williams had 12 of her 14 points in the first half, Sarah Strong had 11 points and Azzi Fudd had 10 points as the Huskies (32-0) extend their winning streak to 48 games and rolled into the semifinals of the Big East tournament on Saturday in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Laila Jewett led the Hoyas (14-17) with nine points.

No. 3 South Carolina 83, No. 6 LSU 77: Raven Johnson had a career-high 22 points, Joyce Edwards scored 15 of her 18 points in the second half and the Gamecocks displayed their mettle by holding on to beat the Tigers to advance to the Southeastern Conference Tournament championship game in Greenville, South Carolina.

South Carolina (31-2) will play either No. 4 Texas or No. 24 Mississippi today.

MiLaysia Fulwiley had 24 points on 10-of-21 shooting and Jada Richard added 17 for LSU (27-5).

No. 10 TCU 74, Kansas State 62: Marta Suarez scored 14 of her 22 points in the third quarter and the Horned Frogs used a 24-16 scoring edge in the period on the way to a win over the Wildcats in a semifinal round game of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Horned Frogs, who were the regular-season champions, will look to repeat as tournament champions today against either No. 15 West Virginia or Colorado.

Kansas State (18-17) was led by Jordan Speiser’s 16 points.

No. 12 Louisville 65, No. 16 North Carolina 57: Imari Berry scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the No. 2-seeded Cardinals (26-7) past the third-seeded Tar Heels in a semifinal of the ACC Tournament in Duluth, Georgia.

North Carolina (26-7) got 17 points from Elina Aarnisalo.

Louisville will play top-seeded and 13th-ranked Duke in the championship game today.

No. 13 Duke 65, Notre Dame 63: Taina Mair had 16 points and eight rebounds and made a 3-pointer with just over a minute remaining and the Blue Devils (23-8) survived three shots in the final 11 seconds by the Fighting Irish in an ACC Tournament semifinal at Duluth, Georgia.

Hannah Hidalgo had 24 points for Notre Dame (22-10).
