Emergency Family Assistance Association: This nonprofit is welcoming food donations weekdays between the hours of 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. Come by 1575 Yarmouth Ave. on the north side of the building. Weather permitting, you can leave your donation on a table outside and fill out your own receipt, or you can knock on the door for help. EFAA accepts unopened cans and packages that are no more than one year beyond their date. EFAA asks for nutrient-dense, healthy products. Foods the group needs the most: canned chili, canned fruit and canned vegetables. Our greatest nonfood needs are toothpaste, shampoo and diapers in sizes 5 and 6. There With Care: This nonprofit helps families and children facing critical illness. At the direction of hospital social workers, it is continuing to deliver support to these families. Its wish list includes size 6 baby diapers, baby bottles, baby hygiene items, oatmeal, sweet/salty snacks, pop-top soup, easy mac cups, disinfecting wipes, dish soap and card games. Fly-Tying Expo and Fundraiser: Hosted by St. Vrain Chapter and Laughing Grizzly Fly Shop, the Fly-Tying Expo features expert fly-tiers from Northern Colorado and throughout the state. This expo offers the opportunity for one-on-one interaction with the tiers where attendees can chat and learn their patterns, tips and pointers. The Fly-Tying Expo is a fundraiser to support the chapter’s work and outreach. Flies tied at the event are donated by the tiers for bucket draws. KGNU-CFCZ Mardi Gras Dance Benefit: KGNU Community Radio celebrates Mardi Gras with revelry, music and dancing, featuring Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble. A free zydeco dance lesson will occur at 7 p.m., and music starts at 8 p.m. The Avalon Ballroom’s spacious dance floor will be vibrating and shaking with enthusiasm at this annual tradition. Honky tonk musician Jimbo Darville of the Truckadours will emcee the event. Chautauqua Art in the Park: The bears are back for this year’s Art in The Park installation. Displayed through April 16, people can bid on their favorite bear.
