Two deputies and a police officer recently graduated from the police academy at Santa Rosa Junior College, local law enforcement agencies reported this week.

When the 214th Class to attend the Basic Police Academy at Santa Rosa Junior College graduated on Aug. 23, 2024, two of the 28 graduates had been sponsored by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.

After completing the 20-week training course in Windsor, graduates Jace Kroh and Jacob Stewart “will begin their assignments and training at the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office (in Ukiah),” and Mendocino Sheriff Matt Kendall asked community members to “please join us in congratulating Jace Kroh and Jacob Stewart in their accomplishment of graduating the police academy and their commitment to serving Mendocino County.”

Another person who graduated from the Sonoma County police academy and completed more than “812 hours of training and evaluation” this month was Daniel Johnson, whom the Ukiah Police Department introduced this week as its newest officer.

UPD Chief Cedric Crook said that Officer Johnson “will begin his field training with our department next week,” and also asked the community to “please join us in extending your congratulations and welcoming him to our team.”
