We are glad to remember the life of Leslie Eugene Briggs who passed away peacefully on February 23 at his new home in The Villages, FL, with his wife and children by his side. He was 82.
Les was born in Waterloo, IA, to Ruth Pauline and Max Milton Briggs. He started a family as a young man of 22. He loved science, space and electronics.
His employment in the aerospace industry was short, but he was proud to have solder joints which made it to the moon in the era of space exploration. Then, he began the business that would become his life for nearly 20 years.
Lestronics star ted in the back room of his house and, with his best friend and partner, Bob Aggson, became a thriving industry building transformers that helped launch the home computer boom.
He tried to retire at 40 after selling the business, but that didn't stick. His industrious spirit led to him beginning another business as a computer consultant, Multiware, which allowed him to continue pursuing his passions on his own terms and schedule.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Savard whom he married in Grand Lake, CO in 1987. He is also survived by his son Scott (Kimberley Bauer) of Bellingham, WA, daughter Sandra (Barry Miller) of Boulder, CO, stepsons Richard Wallen (Becky) of Florence, CO and Tom Wallen (Amy) of Boulder, CO, and brother Michael (Gen) of Palo Alto, CA. He also has four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2200 Broadway in Boulder, CO on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 2 p.m. All are welcome.
