MacIntosh, before he was a writer, drew cartoons for newspapers in Ohio and Minnesota, producing the “Sally Forth” strip for 21 years. He turned to writing fiction in 2009 and retired to write military novels based on his experiences. MacBride has taught English, literature and the humanities at colleges and universities in Illinois, Ohio, New Hampshire and Minnesota.
