After 2020 gave its last winter punch Tuesday, the last day of the year will be dry with some sun and temperatures very close to normal for Dec. 31. For the year, 2020 will end with above-normal temperatures, above-normal precipitation and below-normal snowfall. The New Year will start with a winter storm that will again bring the potential for several types of precipitation. Friday morning snow may change to freezing rain by midday, followed by rain. Rain may mix with snow Saturday evening before changing to all snow late Saturday night. Snow accumulation is expected to be less than the Tuesday afternoon and evening storm.

The first three days of the first work week of 2021 are expected to have temperatures above normal, with highs near 40 and remaining dry until Wednesday.
