Comedy in Batavia

Boyle is an Irish comedian living in New York. She performed in the 2023 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and was featured in the New York Comedy Festival in 2022. Her debut album and special, “I’ll Do It Myself,” was released in 2023.

Eagles night

Flatbed Fords perform at 7:30 p.m. May 24 at the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park in Joliet. Tickets are $20. At 201 W. Jefferson St. 815-724-3761; facebook.com/blbicentennialpark.

This tribute to The Eagles can be seen playing all the Eagles’ hits in the theater at Bicentennial Park.

Piano concert

“Honoring Our Heroes” concert is at 1 p.m. May 26 at Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods in Riverwoods. Tickets are $25. At 21850 N. Riverwoods Road. 224-633-2424. brushwoodcenter.org.

Award-winning concert pianist Julia Siciliano presents a program of reverent piano music meant to honor military heroes. The programs consists of Franz Schubert’s ‘Impromptu, Op. 142 No. 2,” Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Piano Sonata No. 26” and Franz Schubert’s “Piano Sonata, D. 960.”

It’s a parade

A Memorial Day parade is at 10 a.m. May 27 in Aurora. Admission is free. At 51 E. Galena Blvd. 630-256-3370; aurora-il.org/1244/Memorial-Day-Parade.

The parade will begin at the intersection of Benton and River streets, head east on Benton to Broadway, north on Broadway to Downer Place and west on Downer Place to River Street, where it will conclude.

Country singer

Jake Owen performs at 7 p.m. May 30 at the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana’s Hard Rock Live venue in Gary. Tickets are $45-$75. At 5400 W. 29th Ave. 219-228-2383; casino.hardrock.com/northern-indiana.

Jake Owen is known for hits like “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” “I Was Jack (You Were Diane)” and “American Country Love Song.” His album “American Love” debuted at No.1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
