Red Wings, Pistons and Tigers games are now available to be streamed on Amazon Prime, for an additional price.

Main Street Sports Group, which owns and operates the FanDuel Sports Network, including FDSN Detroit, announced Wednesday that Amazon Prime has officially signed on as a live-game streaming partner following months of discussions and negotiations.

The cost to stream the Detroit sports games through Amazon Prime will be $19.99 a month.

“We’re always looking for new and innovative ways to serve our teams and viewers,” Eric Ratchman, president of distribution and business development for Main Street Sports Group, said in a statement. “This relationship with Prime Video gives fans another way to watch their favorite local teams and underscores the essential role our distribution partners play in driving our future growth.

“We’re excited to offer customers a seamless and convenient way to stay in the game.”

The cost through Amazon Prime is the same cost as a streaming subscription through FanDuel Sports Network Detroit, though Amazon Prime might offer a more seamless streaming platform for fans of Detroit’s sports teams.

FanDuel Sports Network, which used to be Bally Spots Detroit, has been plagued with technical difficulties since launching its streaming option.

The user experience has improved, but issues have remained.

Main Street Sports Group owns and operates 16 regional-sports networks under the FanDuel Sports Network banner, including Detroit.

The parent company emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January, with Amazon providing a significant partnership toward helping secure its financial feasibility.
