Larimer County’s Open Spaces received rave reviews from a self-reported survey of satisfaction given to visitors.

Out of 1,112 responses, 52% gave five star reviews, with the average of all reviews being four stars, or “satisfied.” In total, 79% of respondents reported being “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with their visits, or four and five stars, respectively.

Eighty-two percent of respondents were Coloradans with the rest visiting from 35 other states. Only 14% of Colorado respondents were from Larimer County. The average rating dropped from 4.5 to 4 between 2023 and 2024, and the percentage of respondents who reported feeling “safe and welcome” dropped from 94% to 87%.

Most of the responses were related to three of the county’s open spaces, with 30.3% of all responses relating to Horsetooth Reservoir, 25.7% relating to Carter Lake and 23.5% relating to Hermit Park.
