Here’s a roundup of Saturday’s section playoff action:

Class 5A, Section 3

St. Thomas Academy 28, Hastings 14 >> Dominic Baez ran for 185 yards and three scores, and Chase Young added 94 yards passing and 97 rushing as the second-seeded Cadets (6-3) moved back into the Section 3 final. Baez’s final score in the fourth quarter put the Cadets up two scores to essentially salt the contest away.

Zachary Shatek had 122 yards and a score on the ground for the Raiders (4-6).

Apple Valley 35, Two Rivers 31 >> Jackson Thornburgh ran for two touchdowns and threw for three, the last of which was a 52-yard scoring strike to Brandon Fleming with 2:20 to play to send the fourth-seeded Eagles (4-6) to the section final.

Apple Valley will meet St. Thomas Academy in Mendota Heights next week for the Section 3 crown.

Senior running back Ramzi Rislove ran in three scores for the top-seeded Warriors (8-1).

Section 4

Tartan 49, Highland Park 28 >> Jerror Borsay ran for five touchdowns — of 63, 48, 41, 38 and 21 yards — to power the second-seeded Titans (5-5) to the section final.

Isaac Johnson had three rushing scores for the Scots (5-5).

Section 5

Spring Lake Park 28, Rogers 7 >> Lamari Brown ran for 105 yards and a touchdown as the Panthers (4-5) upset Rogers after falling in the same matchup in September.

Colin Welch had a 51-yard touchdown run and a 58-yard receiving score for Spring Lake Park.

Class 4A

Hill-Murray 35, Chisago Lakes 14 >> Hill-Murray quarterback Jackson Reeves ran for two scores and threw for three — two of which went the way of John Pietruszewski.

The Pioneers have now won eight straight games after dropping their season opener.

Hill-Murray will host Simley in the Class 4A, Section 3 title game.
