Longmont protest
• It was really encouraging to be downtown on Saturday, in downtown Longmont, Third to Longs Peak, to see all the people in support of each other, in support of the disenfranchised. And for our local paper to not cover it. You didn’t cover it on Sunday. You didn’t cover it on Monday. The only coverage is from people calling in the TC Line to say, “Why are you not covering it?” Isn’t it your job as journalists to cover all sides of the story? How about that?
• Regarding the comments on the downtown “Hands Off!” protest …, to summarize, these protesters support illegal immigration, government spending fraud, ballooning budget deficits, keeping unneeded people on the federal payroll and our country continuing to be ripped off by trading partners.
• The biggest event in Longmont in years, and your newspaper doesn’t cover it? What the heck? How dare you not cover the “Hands Off!” protest that happened on Saturday. That just shows your newspaper must be biased toward the conservative party.
• I just have one question. What did the “thousands” of protesters accomplish?
• Reading the TC Line every day shows me that this city and this state is full of liberal leftist whiners. You lost the election. Deal with it. There’s a new strain of Trump derangement syndrome; it’s called Elon Musk derangement syndrome.
Rockies coverage?
Not only was there nothing in the newspaper about the protests on Saturday, it was also the Rockies’ home opener, and there was no mention of that, and they had a triple play, which was the fifth one in Rockies history — from third to second to first; three outs, one play. It would have been nice to have seen that mentioned.
Editor’s note: Coverage of the Rockies’ home-opener on Friday appeared on page B1 of Saturday’s Times-Call. Saturday’s game, which started after 6 p.m., ended too late to appear in Sunday’s print edition.
Protest question
For those of us who live out in the hinterland, who was protesting and what were they protesting? And what in the world was the outcome? Was it worthwhile?
Golden Ponds
I love Golden Ponds and walk it a couple of days a week. The dirt paths on Golden Pond are just like concrete. Why can’t the city spread some fresh gravel on the dirt paths at Golden Ponds so the walking is a lot much easier on your feet. We need gravel on our walking path at Golden Ponds.
Notable women
I took the advice of a previous caller to stop into the library and take a look at the display of notable women in the Longmont area and the impact on our community. Such a wide variety. Very impressive. (I) would recommend everyone take time to visit the second-floor display. It runs through the entire month of April.
