An amazing man, a husband, doting father, and grandfather, John (Jonny, to all the friends of his youth in Iowa) made an impact on everyone he ever met. He passed away at age 74 in the hospital after a sudden illness.

Gone far too soon, he lived an incredible life full of adventure, compassion for others, and love. He had a strong passion for the outdoors. You would rarely see him hiking or skiing, but he loved hunting big game and turkeys; fishing, and "puttering" around his yard. He fell in love with South Africa and its people. Most days, he chose to surround himself with people and charge his batteries with people power. Kris, his wife of 24 years, was on hand to encourage him to cultivate some quiet peace when he finally slowed down at the end of the day.

In his career, John was a well-regarded hospital management executive and hospital CEO.

He was known by many for his enthusiastic leadership and caring nature. He knew everyone by name and created a second home for his employees at the workplace. Again, he truly was a man of the people.

John Johnson is survived by his wife, Kris; twin daughters, Teagan and Terran; his sons-in-law, Brian and John; and his beloved grandchildren, Carson and Elle. He is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Sigfried Johnson, and his son, Christopher.

John loved using the word "wonderful." In his honor, his loved ones wish to hold a wonderful celebration of his life to be held in Longmont, Colorado, in June 2025. Details to follow.
