The Los Muertos Uptown Festival drew crowds to Uptown Whittier on Sunday, for a day of fun showcasing the area’s business community, art and culture.
This year’s celebration was the 19th year of the event, which started as a gallery art show in gallery space at Casita del Pueblo.
But as many saw on Sunday, it’s grown into an event that included a car show with altars, Catrina dress-up contest, sugar skull making, music and dance performances.
Organizers also invite local businesses to decorate storefronts and offer in-store specials.
Sponsors for the event include: L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn’s office, City National Bank Vallarta Supermarkets, Athens Services, Casita Del Pueblo, the Whittier Uptown Association and the city of Whittier.
