Marina, CA
Dave Shields died, after several months of cancer treatment, at his home in Marina on July 26. His wife, Lee Hulquist, was with him.
Originally from New York City, Dave lived in Marina and the Monterey area for over 50 years.
Dave was a truck driver (retired), a career garbageman, Teamster Union shop steward, and worked for Monterey Disposal, Inc. for over 40years.
He was an avid motorcyclist/biker, who made many cross country road trips, and enjoyed riding in the local area. He rode and worked on his four Harley Davidsons until the day he died.
The family would like to thank the many friends and neighbors who supported Dave through his illness.
A gathering for Dave will be held, Saturday, September 28, 12:00 p.m., at Marina Methodist Church, 281 Beach Road, Marina. There will be a potluck at Dave and Lee's home after the gathering, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP), a program Dave and Lee supported for over 30 years.
