Robbery Arrest: On May 24 at around 6:6 p.m., officers responded to a robbery where the victim had his bicycle stolen on the 500 block of Matmor Road. During the robbery, the victim was pepper-sprayed by the suspect. Information obtained led to the identification of the suspect, 34-year-old Jose Jimenez of Woodland. A check of Jimenez’s criminal history showed he was a convicted felon, and unable to possess pepper spray. The following day, Jimenez was contacted by officers and arrested.
During the arrest, he was found to be in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Jimenez was arrested and booked at the Yolo County Jail for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of pepper spray by a convicted felon, and drug charges.
Resisting Arrest by Force: On May 25 at around 7:35 p.m., officers responded to a call for service where a male was loitering in the area and banging on windows on the 400 block of West Street. A description was provided and his direction of travel. Officers located a subject matching the description on West Court Street. The subject, 31-year-old Austin Krein of Woodland, was known to the officers to have search terms. During the contact, Krein became physically combative with officers. Krein was placed in a WRAP restraint device to prevent injury to himself or officers. He was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Krein was arrested and booked at the Yolo County Jail for resisting arrest by force, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a violation of probation.
Homeless Outreach Street Team Weekly Report
HOST made 54 contacts and offered services to 17 individuals, one accepted service. HOST tagged 10 camps and cleaned up eight. HOST conducted 12 downtown patrols.
HOST and the Community Enhancement Specialist (C.E.S.) collaborated to address various campsites within the community. Both HOST and CES engage with individuals experiencing homelessness by providing essential programs and resources. Though significant numbers of resources were offered, and a minimal number of resources were accepted this week, we anticipate more being accepted as the summer months begin. Progress is being made with unhoused members who have previously been resource resistant.
