If a guilty verdict in Donald Trump’s New York City trial were to be handed down, would that change the way you think and feel about the former president — and if you are inclined to vote for him in November, would it change the way your ballot will be cast?

That’s our Question of the Week for readers.

Trump is facing 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Prosecutors say the records they are concerned about are to do with hush-money payments to a porn star, Stormy Daniels, in order to buy her silence about their alleged affair.

Is that really what the trial is all about? Or is it a matter, as backers charge, of Manhattan progressives getting revenge on a former New Yorker with whom they disagree about politics? Prosecutors have records calling Trump’s company repayment to his former lawyer Michael Cohen a legal expense. But there were no such expenses, the prosecutors say. Is that the silver bullet in their case?

The criminal trial, the first of any former president, is expected to take six weeks, during which Trump as the defendant must be present most every weekday, with Wednesdays off. Is that cramping his style, if he longs to be on the campaign trail instead?

Prosecutors say their case was brought not just over falsified records but that Trump created a broad scheme to change voters’ views in the 2016 presidential election by having friends purchase damaging tabloid stories about him so that the public didn’t get to read them. Do you think that will be proven true?

Have you been keeping up with daily reports from the trial? If so, what did you think of Daniels’ testimony? Do you believe her saying she’s not cooperating out of self-interest — that this matter has been bad for her, and her brand?

Cohen has a record of not being truthful under oath in the past. Does that weaken his stature as a witness? On Monday, he testified: Trump “said to me, ‘This is a disaster, a total disaster. Women are going to hate me ... Guys, they think it’s cool, but this is going to be a disaster for the campaign.’”

If he’s a felon, can Trump win back the White House?
