Watch out for email scams
Email scams are becoming more common and more convincing. Many are specifically targeting older adults by pretending to be from trusted sources like Medicare, Social Security, banks or even family members.
These emails often ask you to click a link, open an attachment or share personal information like your Social Security number and bank details.
Watch out for these warning signs:
• Messages that create urgency, such as “Your account will be closed” or “Immediate action required.”
• Unfamiliar senders or email addresses that don’t match the organization’s official domain.
• Poor spelling or grammar, or links that look strange or suspicious.
Remember, if something doesn’t feel right, it’s OK to slow down and ask for help. Staying cautious helps keep you safe.
