Colby Jackson pitched a solid four-hitter, but San Rafael’s rally fell short in Tuesday’s 3-2 road loss to Miramonte in a non-league matchup. Jackson struck out three batters and gave up two earned runs in a complete game.

Senior Dexter Jackson doubled and drove in a pair of Bulldog runs in the top of the sixth inning. Seniors Gio Brovelli and Cruz Wexler also had base hits for San Rafael (8-8, 6-4 MCAL).

• Archie Williams High rallied late, but fell 6-3 to host Las Lomas in Tuesday’s non-league meeting. Seniors Jack Evans and Mason Thongnopneua had two hits each for the Peregrine Falcons (8-7, 6-4 MCAL), While Miki Accomazzo hit a double.

• A barrage by league-leading Sonoma Academy in the top of the fifth closed the curtain on Thursday’s 10-0 victory over host Tomales.

• The Braves (3-6, 0-4 NCL II) are scheduled to face Willits on April 15.

College baseball

Marin Catholic grad Carl Schmidt was 3-for-5 as Cal beat University of the Pacific 14-8 on Monday. Schmidt gave the Bears (17-15) the lead in the bottom of the second inning with a two-run single. Schmidt scored twice in the game.

Prep softball

Marin Catholic freshman Malliah Foster struck out eight batters and held Lowell to just three hits Monday as the Wildcats beat the Cardinals 12-2 in five innings.

Bella Ferrety had three hits, with a pair of RBIs and a run scored, while Morgan Carlson drove in three runs for the Wildcats (8-3, 4-2 MCAL). Foster, Izzy Larson, Lyla Gonzalez, Selena Pena and Anna Held each had two base hits.

Fundraiser
