Santa Cruz had six players record double-digit scoring performances, but the Warriors fell to the Sioux Falls Skyforce, 121-109, in the teams’ NBA G League game at Sanford Pentagon in South Dakota on Tuesday evening.
Guard Yuri Collins, coming off a career-high 29-point outing Saturday, had another stellar outing. He had 26 points, 10 assists, and four steals to lead the Warriors (9-6), who led 59-57 at the half.
Forwards Donta Scott and Blake Hinson each made three 3-pointers and finished with 17 points apiece. Scott also had eight rebounds.
After coming off the bench, guard Cameron Parker recorded a career-high 14 points and four assists and center Cheikh Mbacke Diong tallied 12 points, six rebounds, three steals, and two blocks in his second game with Santa Cruz.
Guard Bryson Warren recorded a game-high 30 points and nine rebounds for the Skyforce (8-8). Guard Alondes Williams finished with 20 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds. Forward Nassir Little put up 20 points and eight rebounds, and center Malik Williams had 19 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Caleb Daniels recorded 11 points and six rebounds, while forward Tyler Polley contributed 10 points off the bench.
The Santa Cruz Warriors host the Austin Spurs (10-5) on Friday at 7 p.m. to open a 10-game homestand.
Boys basketball
At Aptos 56, Soquel 40 >> Senior forward Isaiah Ackerman had 21 points and 13 rebounds, and the Mariners rallied to stay unbeaten in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play Tuesday.
Behind the hot shooting of Nico Ramirez, Soquel led 25-21 at the half.
Aptos (18-4, 8-0) held Soquel to two points in the third quarter and outscored the Knights 24-13 in the fourth.
Ryan Solorio hit four 3-pointers and ended up with 14 points, and fellow senior guard Nick Tovani had 12 points and six assists.
Ramirez made four 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead the Knights (10-12, 3-5), and Nolan Westfall added nine points.
On Thursday at 7 p.m., Aptos plays at Santa Cruz (13-8, 7-1), while Soquel hosts Harbor (6-15, 1-7).
Santa Cruz 73, at Scotts Valley 66 >> Junior forward DeMarco Hunter had 38 points, 20 rebounds, and four steals, and the Cardinals kept their SCCAL title hopes alive with their win over the Falcons on Tuesday.
Sophomore guard L.J. Legan scored 13 points for the Cardinals (13-8, 7-1), and senior guard Mosiah Cumberbatch added 11 points.
Senior center Jacob Sanders scored 20 points to lead the Falcons (10-12, 4-4). Taylor Knox scored 19 points, and Zach Shilling made three 3-pointers finished with 13 points.
On Thursday at 7 p.m., Santa Cruz hosts Aptos (18-4, 8-0), while Scotts Valley hosts San Lorenzo Valley (5-15, 1-7).
At SLV 64, Harbor 54 >> Hunter Lallemano scored 11 of his game-high 16 points in the second half, and the Cougars earned their first SCCAL win Monday.Freshman Caleb Cox scored 15 points for the Cougars (5-15, 1-7), who trailed 30-28 at the half. Wyatt Himmelstrup scored eight of his 10 points in the second half.
Senior guard Miles Dix scored 12 points for the Pirates (6-15, 1-7). Dane Loosebrook and Holden Spencer each added 10 points.

Senior Berkeley Ashby had 11 points, six rebounds, and two steals for the Mariners (13-9, 5-3). Sophomore teammate Eliya Chavez had 11 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Junior Abby Sherwood had 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
On Thursday at 5:30 p.m., Aptos plays at Santa Cruz, while Soquel (5-10, 3-5) hosts Harbor.
Girls soccer
At Soquel 0, Santa Cruz 0 >> The second-place Knights played to a scoreless draw against the third-place Cardinals in the teams’ SCCAL match Monday.
Soquel outshot Santa Cruz 17-3.
“I have to give credit to their goalkeeper, she made some key saves,” Knights coach Jose Sierra said. “I told the girls to stay focused and keep learning from each game. We are still in the hunt, but this tie hurts.”
On Thursday at 7 p.m., Soquel (10-3-2, 5-1-1) hosts Aptos, while Santa Cruz (5-6-3, 3-2-2) hosts Scotts Valley.
Scotts Valley 1, at Harbor 0 >> Junior forward Ella Ireland finished off a cross from sophomore forward Jessi Dunn in the 23rd minute, and the Falcons won their SCCAL match Tuesday.
The Falcons were minus ill defender Lilly Rittenhouse, but Falcons defenders Natalia Warner, Mercedes Lopez, Bella Agnone, Ella Ireland, and Izzy Morairty stepped up for the shutout.
Goalie Athena Forbus Harbor made six saves for the Pirates.
On Thursday, Harbor (0-12-1, 0-6-1) plays at SLV at 3:30 p.m., and Scotts Valley (6-5-4, 3-3-1) plays at Santa Cruz at 7 p.m.
