Colorado education leaders urge Trump to release $70 million in K-12 school funding
Pat Conner>> Then follow federal law
David Swenson >> Cancel Polis’ bridge to nowhere and you have half the funding back right there. I’m sure Colo can find the other $35 million somewhere
John Patrick Cooney >> Stupidity reigns in this State of Colorado. Drop the $150 million bridge to nowhere. Waste of money, Polis.
Capitol walkway backed by Gov. Polis is a ‘bridge to nowhere,’ key lawmaker says as project faces criticism
James Herring >> But, they’ll build it anyway. It’s only taxpayer dollars.
Christopher Tone >> Even Kyle Clark of 9 News called out the governor on this bridge and how the governor refuses to listen to the public, and the fiscal hole the state is in is ignored for his … legacy project here. We have been needing state roads and bridges fixed for years, yet he wants to build a bridge that has no purpose. Sure the whole state could come up with many examples of state highways, roads and bridges that are in need of repair and replacement. If he wants a bridge, build a little creek behind his mansion and build a cute little bridge in his backyard without the taxpayer paying for it.
21,000 undocumented Coloradans could lose Medicaid coverage under Trump tax bill
Matt Barcewski>> Go figure. Sounds like a grand idea!
Melissa Corbett >> You can’t receive Medicaid if you don’t have a social security card. They get emergency medical assistance same as if we were in other countries
Tad Moyer >> I think your numbers are a little low!
Sean Sendziak >> Not that I am for undocumented immigrants receiving federal or state benefits as I am not, but undocumented immigrants pay just under $100 billion in taxes a year and receive very little benefits in general from those taxes. I know you all below my post seem to just hate brown people since this January, but the numbers don’t lie nor care about party affiliation. They also do the work us Americans do not want to do at less of a wage. Just to put it in perspective is all.
Janie Wiele Lux >> I swear these headlines are geared toward eliciting hatred. … In Colorado, approximately 21,261 (that’s .35% of our state population) undocumented individuals were enrolled in Medicaid as of June 22, 2025, according to The Denver Post. This includes children and pregnant/postpartum women enrolled in the Cover All Coloradans program, which provides Medicaid-like coverage regardless of immigration status. Additionally, Colorado provides Emergency Medicaid for undocumented adults, also funded through federal dollars.
Ted Smith >> (What) is an undocumented Coloradan? Is that someone from California who hasn’t bought a Subaru, climbed a 14er, and doesn’t drink IPAs?
J Mark Schroeder >> “Undocumented Coloradans.” That’s a good one. Times-Call, you continue to obfuscate.
Alyssa Kee Brock >> Good illegals have no right to get benefits U.S. citizens deserve!
Darla Bates Johns >> Good. Just think of the savings in tax money. Illegals shouldn’t be getting Medicaid in the first place.
