Trump’s Justice Department speech

The headline Tuesday reads “In Justice Department speech, Trump airs grievances against enemies.” By identifying the Biden DOJ officials as Trump’s enemies in the headline, the article acknowledged the lack of impartiality in the department. The article failed to note that Trump was not found guilty of one federal charge and the appointment of Jack Smith as special counsel was found by the court to be illegal. The New York trial cited in the article was a state case without relevance to the federal DOJ. Clearly it was an editorial attack. Why was it necessary to note that attendees were scrolling on their phones during a portion of the address? In the future only place the editorial opinions in the proper section of your publication.

COVID origins

Re “COVID likely came from a lab, and that really matters” (March 16):

It is amazing after all that is written about the origin of the COVID virus, your guest columnists feign indecision about it.

They correctly discount the natural origin theory, but are not convinced of the lab-leak theory. According to a Chinese scientist who had worked at that lab, you can “see” that the virus was artificially created by inserting a protein into the “furin cleavage site,” alluded to in the article. A little detective work answers the mystery. In 2014 the Obama administration forbade the dangerous “gain of function” experimentation.

The ghoulish Dr. Fauci, in charge of all grant money, wanted to continue funding it, so he sent the money through EcoHealth Alliance to the Wuhan Lab. When the leak happened, he leveraged his purse string power over the other scientists into saying it “evolved” from animal origins.

It was a CYA red herring.

Mayor Karen Bass

Re “Bass: I would never quit on my city” (March 13): According to Karen Bass’s statement she would never quit on her city.

Really? Then why did she leave “her Angelenos” for a trip to Ghana during the worst natural disaster we ever had? Not only that, she had to fire the Fire Chief Kristin Crowley because her majesty was not informed properly. Mayor Bass learned very fast from President Trump how easy it is to fire people for no particular reason.
