Chesterfield Township police are investigating a suspicious incident that reportedly occurred at a bus stop last week.

Around 7:45 a.m. Nov. 13, police received a report of a suspicious man walking a gray pit bull dog near a L’Anse Creuse Public Schools bus stop in the area of 23 Mile and Donner roads. The man asked kids at the bus stop where they went to school and asked a student for a phone number, police said.

The suspicious man is described as a black male, unknown age, wearing a black jumpsuit and a mask. He was last seen walking away from the bus stop as the kids entered the bus.

“As a precaution, our district bus drivers have been made aware of the incident and will be looking for anyone matching the description,” school district officials said in a letter to parents. “As we strive to keep all students in our community safe, it is essential to reinforce the importance of reporting an incident that makes students feel uncomfortable or unsafe and to avoid traveling alone whenever possible.”

Anyone with information regarding the subject or incident is encouraged to contact the Chesterfield Township Police Department at 586-949-2322.
