A pedestrian passes by a new sculpture of a Scottish Highland cow in front of the Leonard Center on the Macalester College campus in St. Paul on Thursday. On Friday at 3:30 p.m., the college unveils the larger-than-life Highland “Coo” sculpture. Scottish artist Andy Scott created the cow, which stands 10 feet tall and 15 feet long and represents the college’s heritage. Scott also created “The Calling,” the 32-foot-tall loon which spreads its 89-foot wingspan near Allianz Field, further north on Snelling Avenue, and “The Kelpies,” a pair of 100-foot-tall horse-head sculptures in Falkirk, Scotland.
