Brent Christopher Wickens passed away suddenly on June 12, 2024 at the age of 53. He will beremembered for his acoustic guitar playing, sense of humor, and ceaseless pursuit for the perfect shawarma and burrito.

Brent was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on July 25, 1970 to Nancy Wallander and Bennie Dean Wickens. He was their only child. Following Bennie’s death from a car accident in 1973, Nancy and Brent moved to Maryland where Nancy met and married Carl in 1975.

Brent graduated from California State University Chico with a bachelor's degree. He began his working career as a FedEx delivery driver and worked for one of the early dot com companies, WebVan, a grocery delivery service. Brent began working at Netflix based out of Maryland in 2002 and spent 21 years building his career and left the company as Vice President of Global Operations.

Brent is survived by his wife, Sarah; three sons Ben, Jon, and Sam; his mother, Nancy Wallander, stepfather James Cassel; stepfather Carl Gondolf, stepmother Kimberlee Gondolf; and preceded in death by his father Bennie Dean Wickens and brother Eric Gondolf.

Brent had a passion for his sons, mountain biking, music, two French Bulldogs Otis and Frances Claire, and travel.

Friends and family are invited to the celebration of life on July 10th at the Oakwood Memorial Park Chapel 3301, Paul Sweet Road, Santa Cruz at 2:30p. Reception to follow inAptos, CA.
