Scott Burnstein’s Oakland County football rankings after Week 7:

1 Novi Detroit Catholic Central (7-0 D1) — Lit like a Christmas tree in October.

2 Birmingham Groves (7-0 D2) — Imposing its will every single snap.

3 Walled Lake Western (7-0 D3) — Showing state-championship caliber execution, attitude and instinct.

4 Oxford (5-2 D1) — All hail the new kings of the OAA Red, a blood-sweat-and-tears special led by prototypical “Oxford” types.

5 Lake Orion (5-2 D1) — Senior offensive lineman Brennan Eliassen brings the pain in the trenches 24/7 and deserves more recognition.

6 Rochester Adams (5-2 D1) — Obviously, the Highlanders didn’t get the memo losing their standout signal caller ended their season’s chances. Coach Patritto preaches relentless resolve, unwavering discipline and all-in commitment to system, and this squad embodies those principles to the core.

7 Clarkston (4-3 D1) — Scratching, clawing, and basically being C-Town tough.

8 Orchard Lake St. Mary’s (4-3 D2) — A lot of heart, nothing more needs to be said.

9 West Bloomfield (3-4 D1) — Needs to find its identity and needs to do it fast.

10 Pontiac Notre Dame Prep (7-0 D5) — Flexing, firing on all cylinders, flashing those fangs.
