Alec Blair activated his clutch gene on Tuesday night.
The Oklahoma-bound forward scored a game-high 22 points and made every crucial basket down the stretch to lead No. 3 De La Salle to a 51-45 win over No. 4 San Ramon Valley.
Senior forward David Balogun had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
SRV guard Mason Thomas scored a team-high 17 points and Elliot Conley had 11.
The Wolves had a one-point lead at half, but Blair took over the second half. With the score tied at 41, Blair dribbled into the right side of the lane and finished strong at the rim with a foul to put the Spartans up three with less than 3 minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
Blair then hit a mid-range jumper on the wing to put De La Salle up 46-41 with 45 seconds left to take control of the game. SRV cut the lead to three, but Ibrahim Monawar knocked down four free throws in the final 30 seconds to seal the win.
San Ramon Valley dropped to 10-7 overall and 1-1 in the East Bay Athletic League, but coach Brian Botteen said he was proud of the way his team battled.
“De La Salle is a very good squad,” he said. “We came battle-tested and game ready.”
De La Salle improved to 16-1, 2-0.
No. 9 St. Ignatius 78, Sacred Heart Cathedral 42 >> After a sluggish start to the first quarter at Chase Center, the Wildcats found their groove and routed city rival SHC to win the annual Bruce-Mahoney game.
Junior Raymond Whitley led St. Ignatius with 18 points and three steals. Freshman Alex Moore totaled 15 points and seven rebounds.
SHC led by six points after the first quarter, but St. Ignatius turned up the heat defensively in the second quarter and took a 35-24 lead at halftime.
The second half was all St. Ignatius.
No. 1 Archbishop Riordan 73, No. 16 Serra 35 >> Riordan earned another dominant West Catholic Athletic League win, beating Serra by its largest margin in more than 20 years.
The Crusaders led by eight at halftime, but hit another gear in the third quarter as they outscored the Padres 21-5. Riordan won the second half 37-12.
Texas A&M commit Jasir Rencher had a game-high 19 points for Riordan. Andrew Hilman had 15 points and Kirby Seals added 10.
No. 2 Salesian 65, Albany 41 >> Salesian cruised to its ninth consecutive win, defeating Albany on the road. Carlton Perrilliat scored 14 points for Salesian while Alvin Loving added 11 points. Bruno Dar led Albany with 11 points.
No. 10 Archbishop Mitty 68, Bellarmine 47 >> Caeden Hutcherson scored a game-high 22 points as Mitty routed Bellarmine at home. Senior Grayson Jalal added 15 points and Brady Clugage scored seven.
Will Corbett had a team-high 15 points for Bellarmine.
No. 11 California 61, No. 8 Dublin 60 (OT) >> Senior point guard Dane Wallace hit the game-winning jumper with seconds left in overtime to seal the win for the San Ramon school. The win marked the first time California has beaten Dublin in 15 years.

No. 12 St. Ignatius 58, No. 6 Sacred Heart Cathedral 48 >> Facing off against Sacred Heart Cathedral during the Bruce-Mahoney Classic at Chase Center, St. Ignatius’ freshman wunderkind Lulu Giometti heated up in the third quarter, burying three 3-pointers to power the Wildcats’ surge.
The teams were tied 27-27 at halftime. SI led 50-36 after the third quarter and held on in the fourth to win. Giometti finished with six 3s, converted multiple shots from NBA range, and led all scorers with 18 points.
“It was a really competitive atmosphere, and I’m really happy we got the win,” Giometti said.
Giometti wasn’t missing much, and neither was SI. The Cats made six 3-pointers in all during the 23-point third quarter, including four consecutive to key a 14-0 run that gave SI full control.
No. 4 San Ramon Valley 59, No. 3 Carondelet 55 (OT) >> San Ramon Valley stormed back in the fourth quarter to notch a key EBAL win against No. 3 Carondelet.
Carondelet led 44-39 at the 2:50 mark of the fourth quarter, but struggled with free throws late in the game. SRV freshman Kaitlyn Mills was phenomenal down the stretch as she scored 13 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter and overtime.
SRV has won its last five games and improved to 13-2, 2-0. The Wolves will host Livermore today.
Carondelet dropped to 13-3, 4-1 and will play Salesian at the MLK Classic at De La Salle on Monday.
No. 5 Pinewood 63, No. 8 Priory 38 >> Katherine Garr scored 19 points, Vallory Kuelker had 16 and Jolyn Ding totaled 12 as Pinewood defeated Priory on the road in a West Bay Athletic League showdown.
No. 9 St. Francis 68, No. 14 Valley Christian 55 >> The Lancers had four scorers in double figures as they defeated Valley Christian on the road. Junior Paige Spencer led St. Francis with 17 points. Maia Jimenez and Sophie Holmes each had 14 points and Grace Curley added 12.
Valley Christian junior Kenedi Nomura turned in another high-scoring performance, totaling 27 points and making 11 of 13 free throws.
St. Francis improved to 13-2, 2-1 and plays Riordan at home on Friday. Valley Christian is 11-4, 0-3 and will have some time off before playing Riordan on Jan. 24.
No. 15 Bishop O’Dowd 56, No. 7 Piedmont 47 >> Junior point guard Jayla Stokes scored 23 points as O’Dowd picked up a key league win on the road.
O’Dowd’s Simdi Chukwu added 11 points and Madison Gordon had eight points and four blocks.
Senior Shakila Zuberi led Piedmont with 11 points, four rebounds and an assist. Freshman standout Andrea Martin had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks and a steal.
No. 16 Salesian 70, St. Mary’s-Berkeley 50 >> Janiya Sawyer scored 19 points, Vanessa Parilla had 12, Lauren Ochong totaled 11 and Emma Bryant recorded 10 as Salesian defeated league foe St. Mary’s to improve to 10-5, 3-0.
Senior Tatiana Wilson led St. Mary’s with 14 points and Marlee Richard chipped in 12.
No. 18 California 58, Dublin 28 >> California handed Dublin its first loss of the season, defeating the Gaels in dominant fashion at home.
Trinity Chu led the Grizzlies with 16 points. Sofie Addiego added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals, and Rachael Osicka totaled 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks.
California improved to 9-6, 2-0. Dublin is 12-1, 1-1.
Notre Dame-Belmont 52, No. 19 Menlo School 42 >> Sammy Kakala led Notre Dame to its 12th win of the season as she scored 19 points to help defeat Menlo on the road. Menlo senior Karen Xin had a game-high 22 points.
Notre Dame improved to 12-1, 1-0. Menlo fell to 10-2, 0-1.
