Lane passed away on May 20, 2025 at the age of 70 after a long illness. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 23, 1955 and made Woodland his home for many years.

He graduated from Hemet high school in California in 1973 and from UC DAVIS in 1978 with a degree in Entomology and spent over 50 years working as a Pest Control Advisor.

He will be remembered with love and gratitude by those whose lives he touched.

Lane is survived by his wife Jeanie, his father Richard (Barbara), and step-father Benny Smith. He is also survived by his sons Cody (Rosie) and Garrett, brother David (Carolyn), sister-in-law Barbara, sister Sara, and extended family including many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Bonnett Smith and brother Steve.

The family would like to thank cherished friends, Dr. Sundeep Bains, Dr. Kai-Ting Hu, Kaiser Permanente and the Joy of Dixon (renal care) for the great care they provided for Lane.

A celebration of life will be held at the Woodland Elks Club, 500 Bush Street, Woodland, CA on Saturday June 21 from 12:00-4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to AGR, Davis Alpha Gamma Rho Alumni, P.O. Box 355, Davis, CA 95617.
