Bull moose captured Wednesday morning in Greeley
A bull moose first spotted in Evans on Tuesday morning that then evaded capture in Greeley later in the day was finally sedated and relocated Wednesday morning.
The moose was captured around 10 a.m. and relocated to a “more antler-friendly location,” according to a social media post from the Greeley Police Department.
The moose had been spotted Tuesday morning in and around the Grapevine Hollow neighborhood in Evans, eventually heading north into Greeley’s Josephine B. Jones Park later that afternoon.
He evaded capture Tuesday night, prompting Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials to continue relocation efforts into Wednesday morning.
This was the third straight July a moose has made its way to Weld County.
Last year, three moose were spotted in a handful of smaller Weld County communities, and in 2023, a moose was seen near the Weld County Jail in northeast Greeley.

Swire Coca-Cola scraps plans for large bottling plant near DIA
Swire Coca-Cola, the Utah-based manufacturer and distributor, is canceling its plan to construct a 570,000-square-foot bottling plant at the northeast corner of Tower Road and Peña Boulevard near Denver International Airport.
“Unforeseen delays and ongoing timeline instability have severely impacted the viability and delivery of the project. As such, we will no longer pursue the originally proposed location for the development of a new production plant,” a company representative said in an emailed statement to The Post.
The company added that it still plans to make a significant regional investment in a new production facility at a different location, which is in the process of being identified.
