Paige Murphy tossed a two-hitter and drove in the go-ahead run as the Archie Williams High softball team rallied for a 6-1 win against San Rafael on Monday.

The game was head-to-head showdown between last year’s MCAL player of the year in Murphy and the league’s pitcher of the year in Thomara Drummer. Murphy struck out 15 hitters against two walks in a complete-game performance.

San Rafael jumped out to an immediate 1-0 lead in the first inning when leadoff hitter Sophia Everett reached on an error then came around to score after another error by the Peregrine Falcons.

Archie Williams (8-2, 3-0 MCAL) trailed until the fifth inning. The Peregrine Falcons capitalized on a San Rafael error then Murphy tripled to score Parker Conrad and give them a 2-1 lead. Archie Williams scored four more runs in the sixth inning with two-out RBI singles by Ana Flandermeyer, Conrad, and Avery Rose.

Drummer struck out 13 hitters for San Rafael (2-7, 0-3) against just one walk and three earned runs. Drummer and Everett had the hits for San Rafael.

• Malliah Foster got out of a one-out, bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh as Marin Catholic came away with a 3-2 win at San Marin on Monday. Foster, who allowed nine hits in seven innings, was cruising going into the seventh with a 3-0 lead. An error and a walk opened the door for San Marin shortstop Lauren Fong, who hit a triple to pull the Mustangs within 3-2. San Marin (4-3, 1-2) loaded the bases but Foster got the final two outs on fly balls to claim the win. Anna Held had two hits and two RBIs for MC (4-3, 1-2).

• Redwood built a four-run lead then held off a late charge by Tam for a 4-3 victory on Monday. The Giants (7-5, 3-0) got two hits from Ava Brown and an RBI by Ashley Ball while building a 4-0 lead through five innings. Tam scored three times in the sixth inning, featuring singles by Zoe Pletcher and Ava Lee. Redwood starter Stella Belluomini worked 5.2 innings with three hits, no earned runs and seven strikeouts. Lee pitched all six innings for Tam (5-1, 1-1), allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out seven.

• Terra Linda’s offense came up big in a rare off-game for pitcher Eleanor Johnson in a 17-7 victory against Novato in six innings on Monday. Six different players — Lacey Graham, Liv Offenbach, Sofia Gonzalez, Ava Law, Ela Leon, and Alexa Corsigilia — had two hits apiece for TL (8-0, 2-0). The Trojans have outscored opponents 103-23 on the season with the only close game a 2-1 victory against San Marin last week. Johnson worked six innings with seven hits, five walks and four earned runs against 10 strikeouts. Izzy Rykov had two hits and two RBIs for Novato (2-8, 0-3).

Andrew Gorcyzcki and Charlie Miller picked up victories at Nos. 1 and 2 singles to help lead Marin Catholic to a 7-0 win against Novato on Monday.

Shade Murray took medalist honors with a 34 at Mill Valley to lead Tam to a 188-230 victory against Novato on Monday. Ben Friedman and Hayden Thill both shot 36s for the Red-tailed Hawks and Elliot Dasovich shot a 37. Johnny Mahoney led Novato with a 41.
