Resident of Dublin
Mike Misheloff passed away on November 29, 2024, from pneumonia. He touched many with his generosity and his belief in community service.
Mike was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Miami, FL. He graduated from Miami Senior High School and earned a degree in physics from California Institute of Technology and a doctorate in physics from University of California at Berkeley. He went on to be a professor of physics at Princeton University and the University of Nebraska Lincoln before moving his family to California and starting work at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
After 7 years, he started working as a chip designer in the Silicon Valley where he worked for a number of companies for the rest of his career. Most of the years were spent working for VLSI Technologies where he was the inventor for 7 patents the company filed. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling and was an active member of the Dublin Lion’s Club.
Mike is survived by his children, Robert, Brian, and Ilene (Ilene was kidnapped January 30, 1989), his daughter-in-law, Rita, his grandchildren, Maddie and Lauren, his brother-in-law, Stephan Abramson, and his nephews, Larry &Rick Wainschel. He was predeceased by his wife, Madelyne “Maddi” in 2020, and his sister, Paula, in 1986.
Friends and family are invited to funeral services on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Jess CSpencer Mortuary, 21228 Redwood Road in Castro Valley.
