San Rafael
Florence Taylor passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025 at the age of 97. Born in San Rafael, she lived a life full of love and caring towards her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents (Camille and Paul Bissola), her sister Mary Ubhaus, and her husband of 50 years Raymond Taylor. Flo is survived by her children Lynn Williamsen (Rohnert Park) and Raymond (Bud) Taylor of Cottonwood, CA. Her loving grandchildren include Becky Verhoeff, Aimee Neal, Paul Taylor, Jenna Uibel and Lisa Cranfill as well as her 11 greatgrandchildren.
A lifelong resident of Marin County, Flo enjoyed an active and rewarding social life. She was the strong but loving matriarch of her family. After graduating from San Rafael High School, she worked briefly in San Francisco for the FBI. She worked at her parents corner grocery store for many years (Paul Bissola Market) and started her own small business (Pots for Pennies) later in life. Flo was an excellent Italian cook and received great joy working in her garden tending to her beloved and award winning roses. She was a member of the Sons of Italy as well as the Marin Rose Society. A mass at St. Raphael's Church in San Rafael will be held at 11:00 am on July 24, 2025 followed by a lunch buffet at nearby San Rafael Joes.
