A 26-year-old Hinckley man died after a motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon in Sugar Grove, according to a press release from the village of Sugar Grove.

At around 3:31 p.m. on July 6, the Sugar Grove Police Department and Sugar Grove Fire Protection District responded to a crash in the area of the eastbound Route 30 ramp onto southbound Route 47, according to the press release posted on the village’s Facebook page.

Police found a man at the bottom section of the ramp with a 2007 Honda sport motorcycle on its side, the press release said. He was taken to a local hospital by the fire department and later pronounced dead.

On Monday, the Kane County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy and identified the man who died as Anthony Thomas, 26, of Hinckley, according to a news release from the Coroner’s Office. The office will determine an official cause and manner of death following further investigation, officials said. The ramp was closed for about three hours during the investigation of the crash, the release noted. The Sugar Grove Police Department received help from the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team to investigate the crash, and requested the assistance of the county’s Major Crimes Task Force to help with interviews and investigative follow-ups.
