Trump for the win

Re “Dems made it easy for Donald Trump to prevail” (Nov. 8):

I scour the media looking for what I believe to be intelligent takes on the presidential election and all I read are hoards of liberally biased columnists extending Hillary Clinton’s infamous 2016 “deplorables” comment regarding Donald Trump supporters.

Look, gang, this ain’t complicated. The majority of voters, unlike those in politics and the media, were smart enough to decipher which candidate would make a better POTUS over the next four years.

Their choices?

A guy who has already been president and whom, for all of his insulting rhetoric as well as criminality, presided over 2017-2020 relatively effectively ... versus a reigning vice president who has been directly tied to a predominantly feckless and failed administration since 2021, and despite that claimed simultaneously that she isn’t Joe Biden but she also won’t really do anything differently than he has.

Wow, talk about a massive failure to read the room.

Trumpsters

Re “Letters to the editor” (Nov. 10):

Little by little most people are recuperating from the shock that someone like Trump with a backpack full of 34 felony convictions, civil liabilities for sexual abuse and many other flaws was able to defeat the supposedly “inept” Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. It is painful to read how candidate Harris was described. Has anyone considered that Kamala Harris had the proper manners and attitude to concede and to congratulate the incoming president?

Had Trump lost, can you imagine what would have happened? Well, I wish you people all the best and may all your hopes about a “great” America come true.

Not much of a concession speech from Harris

I listened to Kamala Harris’ speech today and found it a bitter concession bent on continuing the fight of her party that was soundly rejected by voters. Instead of seeking common ground as she pledged in the campaign, she doubled down on her agenda.

Seems the little girl who was bussed to school still has the chip on her shoulder.
