Murrieta, CA James “Jim” Douglas Moore, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 in Murrieta, California. He was born on August 19, 1943, with a larger-than-life personality.
Jim fearlessly served his country in the Vietnam War accompanied by his loyal bomb sniffing dog. After the war, he continued to serve by building naval ships and participating in both basketball and bowling within the Olympics for disabled veterans.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy. Jim and Daisy loved spending their time on ocean cruises and had a happy life together. He was also preceded in death by two of his brothers, Bobby and Freddie Moore. During the later years of his life, he enjoyed time by the lake every morning and never met a stranger. He had an infectious personality and was well known at the VA hospital. Jim’s infectious smile, warm personality, and servant heart will live on in the lives of those he touched. He is survived by his sister Rosie Sheets of McDonough, Georgia.
