Lifelong Resident of Santa Cruz

Patricia Frances (Foerster) Mosley, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024 at her home in Santa Cruz, California. Patricia was born on September 7, 1931 to Daphne Floretta (Hyde) Foerster and Timothy Michael Foerster. She was a native of Santa Cruz and a third generation Santa Cruzan. She attended Gault Elementary, Branciforte Elementary, Branciforte Junior High, and Santa Cruz High School. Throughout her life, Patricia worked at Pie Shop on the Beach and at Farmers Merchants Bank. She also worked as a homemaker and mother of three children. While she was married, she was the bookkeeper for her husband’s construction business. After Patricia had been divorced, she went on to work as a book keeper for Madden Business Machines in Santa Cruz and Watsonville. Patricia worked as a temporary with the County of Santa Cruz, until she was hired full time in the Civil Division of the Sheriff’s department. She worked there until she retired in September of 1996.

Patricia enjoyed being involved with her children and grandchildren’s activities such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, skating, Junior Bowling, baseball leagues, tennis swimming, and making dance costumes. She was a member of the Surf City Mustang Club and enjoyed reading, knitting, and sewing. Patricia was a fan of the San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s. She enjoyed watching games on TV and in the stadiums. Patricia looked forward to going to Disneyland every year, a tradition she continued even as her family grew. She sang in the church choir and was the treasurer at her church for several years.

Patricia is survived by her daughter Susan Buri and her husband, Gregory; son Dustin Mosley; daughter-in-law Cathy Mosley; sister-in-law Margaret Foerster; granddaughter Christina Mosley; grandsons Clifford Mosley III and David Hein and his wife, Martha; great grandsons Anthony Mosley Torres and Ethan Andrade. Patricia is preceded in death by her son Clifford J. Mosley Jr; daughter in law Kristina P. Mosley; sisters Evelyn Henderson Needles and Joyce V. Stevenson; brothers Richard W. Foerster and Timothy A. Foerster.

Patricia will always be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother with a heart that was larger than life, and was always there for her family and friends. A Memorial Service will take place at 2pm on September 7, 2024 at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St, in Santa Cruz, California.
