Spotter scopes

If you want to see sea lions, sea otters and whales far off shore, then using a spotter scope is the way to go. Docents along the trails will have these tools propped up for guests to look through.

Weston Beach

During low tide, walk over the ocean rocks to look for crabs and sea urchins in these tidepools. Remember not to take anything from the tidepools.

History

Whaler’s Cabin

Any history buff will enjoy this museum. Visitors will learn about the whaling history of Point Lobos. Make sure to arrive early to find a parking spot and beat the crowds.

China Cove

Located at the south end of the reserve, this iconic spot and Bird Island are the perfect place to see harbor seals in the cove or cormorants preening on the rocks.
