Solano County’s Baby New Year 2025 arrived at Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Family Birth Center at 1:46 a.m. Wednesday — earlier than Mom expected, but just in time to win the county’s first-baby title.

The baby’s original due date was Jan. 6, said mom Jessica Hall of Esparto, Yolo County. No matter — the delivery was smooth with no complications.

Aurelia Hall weighed in at 7 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 20.5 inches. Next up is an older sister for Aurelia to meet.

Aurelia enjoyed some sleep despite visitors capturing photos between oohs and aahs.

Meanwhile Jessica said the baby looks like her. “She has my cheeks,” she said with a smile.

And she had some praise for the team that took care of her and helped to bring Aurelia into the world at Kaiser with a “very good” delivery and minimal pain. In particular, she thanked her delivery nurse who helped her to laugh and get through the delivery.

“She made the whole thing better,” she said.

Kaiser took the title for delivering the Bay Area’s first baby as well.

According to news reports, the first baby born in the Bay Area in 2025 appears to be a girl who welcomed the world at exactly midnight at Kaiser Permanente San Leandro Medical Center.
