Franciscan Health has three-day diabetes education classes available from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 5454 Hohman Ave., Hammond; and from 9 to 11 a.m. July 16, 17 and 18 at 24 Joliet St., Dyer. The classes are a covered benefit for most individuals with diabetes and are covered by Medicare and most commercial insurance plans. Participants receive a meal plan individualized to their needs. Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Cathedral will present its 50th annual Greek Fest featuring food, music and entertainment from 5 to 11 p.m. July 12, noon to 11 p.m. July 13 and noon to 10 p.m. July 14 at the church, 8000 Madison St., Merrillville. The band High Noon will perform from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, The Minitones Band will take the stage from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday and the Greek music of Ormi will be featured from 5 to10 p.m. Sunday.
