Take a hike

The Kankakee Valley Historical Society and Porter County Parks and Recreation present the self-paced Fall Aukiki River Walk at 9-11 a.m. Oct. 2 in Kouts with stops for historical video access using smartphones. Naturalists will be stationed along the trail to give walkers more information about the Kankakee River. Admission is $5 for adults; kids under 12 are free. At 1097 Baum’s Bridge Road.
