Temperatures rose into the middle 70s Tuesday boosted by 98% of possible sunshine and more of the same is expected Wednesday even though a weak cold front will be moving through our area. By Friday, winds will pick up out of the southwest boosting temperatures close to the 80-degree mark. Readings will average from 7-14 degrees above normal for the last three days of the work week.

Forecasts indicate Hurricane Delta will make landfall on the northern shoreline of the Yucatan Peninsula with the popular Cancun and Cozumel resort areas under threat of 140 mph winds, life-threatening storm surge and flood-producing torrential rains early Wednesday. The massive storm is then expected to curve north and threaten the Louisiana coastline with potentially 120 mph winds later Friday.
