Davis Musical Theatre Company (DMTC) Young Performers Theatre is excited to present the heartwarming, spunky, and charming musical, “Annie Jr.”
Annie Jr. opens Saturday, May 3, and plays through Sunday, May 25, at the Jean Henderson Performing Arts Center. The show is based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical. With a beloved book and score by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse, and Martin Charnin, Annie Jr. features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.
The show is directed by Tea Pusey, with musical direction by Montana Monce and choreography by Logan Sexton. With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
This energetic cast features Lila Reinhart as Annie, Jett Kidd as Oliver Warbucks, Sophie Bielski as Grace, Emma Nason as Ms. Hannigan, and Cooper Fenton as Sandy.
Annie Jr. plays on Saturdays, May 3, 10, 17, and 24 at 2 p.m. There is a Friday show on May 23 at 7 p.m. and a Sunday show on May 25 at 2 p.m. All performances are at the Jean Henderson Performing Arts Center, 607 Pena Drive in Davis. Tickets and Reserved Seating are $10 for all ages. Tickets can be purchased online at dmtc.org or by calling (530) 756-3682 (there is a $2 facility fee per ticket). We hope to see you there….tomorrow!
