Gabriel Arias hit a go- ahead home run in the sixth inning and doubled in the ninth on a night when San Francisco celebrated new slugger Rafael Devers at every chance, and the visiting Cleveland Guardians spoiled the fun by beating the Giants 3-2 on Tuesday.

Jung Hoo Lee singled to start the bottom of the ninth against Emmanuel Clase, and Devers singled one out later before Heliot Ramos walked to load the bases for Dominic Smith. He flied out and Casey Schmitt struck out to end it as Clase earned his 15th save.

Devers went 2 for 5 with two strikeouts in his Giants debut after being acquired in a trade from the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. He hit a go-ahead double in the third inning only for the Guardians to answer on Carlos Santana’s RBI single in the fourth.

Arias connected for his fifth homer off lefty Robbie Ray (8-2), who struck out five and walked two, allowing three runs on five hits over six innings.

Mariners 8, Red Sox 0: Cal Raleigh hit a grand slam for his major league best 27th home run and drove in six to tie a career high, Bryan Woo gave up one hit over seven innings, and Seattle snapped visiting Boston’s six-game winning streak.

Raleigh cleared the bases in the second inning, turning on an elevated changeup from Red Sox starter Walker Buehler (5-5). It capped off a five-run frame.

Raleigh added two more RBIs in the fourth inning with a double.

Woo (6-4) gave up a pair of walks and a single by Marcelo Mayer in the fifth inning. He struck out six.

Buehler allowed eight runs, eight hits and four walks in 3 1/3 innings.

Cubs 5, Brewers 3: Seiya Suzuki and Pete Crow-Armstrong homered, and Chi- cago defeated Milwaukee at Wrigley Field in a matchup of NL Central contenders.

Kyle Tucker had three hits as Chicago improved to 4-1 on a 10-game homestand.

Ben Brown (4-5) pitched five innings of two-run ball.

The Cubs upped their division lead to 6 1/2 games over the second-place Brewers, who won the NL Central in each of the past two years.

Isaac Collins hit a two-run homer for Milwaukee.

The Brewers had a 2-1 lead before the Cubs rallied in the fifth against Chad Patrick (3-7).

Ian Happ reached on a one-out walk and Tucker doubled before Suzuki connected for his 18th homer.

Brown allowed six hits, struck out five and walked two in his first win since May 2.

The Brewers closed to 4-3 on Joey Ortiz’s single in the sixth. But Brad Keller and Caleb Thielbar each pitched an inning before Daniel Palencia handled the ninth for his seventh save.

Crow-Armstrong, the former Harvard-Westlkake standout, helped Thielbar with a diving catch on Brice Turang’s liner in the eighth. Then he led off the bottom half of the inning with a 452-foot drive off the scoreboard in right for his 19th homer, sparking another round of “P-C-A!” chants from the crowd.

Blue Jays 5, Diamondbacks 4: Bo Bichette and Addison Barger hit back-to-back home runs off Shelby Miller in the bottom pf the ninth inning and Toronto rallied to edge Arizona and snap a three-game skid.

The Blue Jays trailed 4-3 heading to the final frame before Bichette tied it with a one-out drive to left. Barger followed with a game-winning shot to right.

For Miller (3-2), the blown save was his fourth in 11 chances.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homered and drove in three runs for the Blue Jays.

Rockies 10, Nationals 6: Colorado hit a franchise record-tying seven homers, including two from Michael Toglia, and dealt host Washington its 10th loss in a row.

The Rockies hit seven homers for the third time, matching April 1997 at Montreal and against Cincinnati in May 2016. The Rockies have won three in a row.

Four of the homers came in a six-run seventh, highlighted by a three-run shot from Hunter Goodman and a solo shot by Ryan McMahon.

Thairo Estrada, Sam Hilliard and Mickey Moniak also homered for the Rockies.

Royals 6, Rangers 1: Salvador Perez homered twice and drove in five runs, Bobby Witt Jr. went deep in his hometown team’s ballpark for the first time and Kansas City stopped a six-game losing streak with a victory over Texas.

Seth Lugo struck out nine for his first win since May 1. Lugo (4-5) gave up three hits and a run over six innings.

Perez hit a two-run shot for a 3-0 lead in the first inning. After adding an RBI double in the fourth, Perez connected for his eighth homer of the year, a solo shot that made it 6-1 in the sixth.

Rangers rookie Jack Leiter (4-4) gave up eight hits and six runs in 5 2/3 innings.

Marlins 8, Phillies 3: Eric Wagaman and Jesús Sánchez homered as Miami snapped a five-game home skid with a victory that ended Philadelphia’s five-game win streak.

Nick Castellanos was benched by Phillies manager Rob Thomson on Tuesday for “an inappropriate comment” the outfielder made after he was pulled for a defensive replacement in the series opener Monday. The benching ended Castellanos’ streak of 236 consecutive starts.

Xavier Edwards’ RBI sin- gle capped a three-run sixth that put Miami ahead 5-3.

Phillies starter Jesús Luzardo (6-3) gave up four runs, six hits and four walks in five-plus innings.

Braves 5, Mets 4 (10): Austin Riley hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to deep center field in the bottom of the 10th, lifting Atlanta to a win over New York.

Marcell Ozuna tied it with a three-run double in the eighth for the Braves.

NL East leader New York has lost four in a row.

Tyrone Taylor homered and drove in three runs, and Juan Soto also homered as the Mets built a 4-1 lead.

Tigers 7, Pirates 3: Javier Báez hit two of Detroit’s four home runs in a home victory over Pittsburgh.

Wenceel Pérez and Riley Greene also homered.
