Resident of Blacksburg, Virginia

Liz passed away in Blacksburg, Virginia after a difficult 9 months of fighting cancer. She never complained and was always optimistic. Born on May 8, 1969 in Sasobo, Japan, a small village on the southern most island. She was always proud of her dual citizenship.

While in high school she became an avid horsewoman participating in 3 day eventing. She freely taught the local children horsemanship and riding lessons. She was great with the kids. Her appalosa horse knew when she had achild on her back and took good care ofthem.

Liz also loved her books and was blessed with a wonderful imagination. She read Shakespeare for fun in high school and was a talented creative writer. After graduating Saratoga High she went to Santa Clara University and majored in English. She also happened to like computers and her first job after graduating was as a tech writer at Oracle.

In 2009 she moved to Virginia to the beautiful horse country of Middleburg. Northern Virginia also had high tech jobs so this was the best of both worlds for her.

In 2012 she suffered from an acoustic neuroma. It was too large to be completely removed and left her disabled.

She suffered horrible headaches so she researched and found that Blacksburg, Virginia was located in the Blue Ridge Mountains and that the barometric pressure was less and that did help.

Last January we received a call that she was in the hospital very ill. She asked a night nurse if she knew anyone who could help her when she got home. She said "

I can!" Shotzy put together 5 other gals who formed 24/7 care. What a blessing. They created a family atmosphere with excellent care since all were LVN's. They loved her and she loved them.

She leaves behind her mother, Arlene Pasetta Nobriga, sister Meg Anne Nobriga, father Timothy Alan Nobriga, much loved Auntie Elise Pasetta and many cousins.

Please consider a donation in Liz's honor to Dream- PowerFoundation.com who provides equine assisted therapies to military veterans, autistic children and more.
