Running back Rashad Amos has changed his mind again.

On Saturday, about three weeks after he announced his intention to transfer to Colorado, the former Miami-Ohio standout announced that he will instead go to Mississippi.

Amos, who rushed for 1,075 yards and 13 touchdowns last year at Miami-Ohio, originally committed to Mississippi State on April 13 before flipping to CU on April 26.

“I’d like to thank everybody for the support,” Amos wrote on X. “This has not been for the faint hearted. I’d like to thank all of the coaches that have poured into me throughout this process. I really appreciate it. Finding the best fit isn’t a simple task on or off the field. I’ve had a lot to consider thus far. So after speaking on that I would like to decommit from Colorado!”

About 10 minutes later, he announced his commitment to Ole Miss. Amos began his career at South Carolina, playing for the Gamecocks for three seasons (2020-22) before transferring to Miami-Ohio last year.

It has been a roller-coaster ride for the Buffs at running back this offseason.

All five scholarship running backs from last year are gone, including Kavosiey Smoke, who graduated, and Anthony Hankerson, who transferred to Oregon State last winter. Then, last month, Dylan Edwards, Alton McCaskill IV and Sy’veon Wilkerson all left the program. Edwards landed at Kansas State, McCaskill at Arizona State and Wilkerson at Georgia State.

The only scholarship running back remaining from the spring is true freshman Micah Welch, who arrived at CU in January as an early enrollee. In the past few weeks, the Buffs also gave walk-on Charlie Offerdahl a scholarship, added Ohio State transfer Dallan Hayden and signed incoming freshman Brandon Hood.
