Price of on-street parking in downtown area to rise

Prices for on-street parking in certain highly trafficked areas of downtown Boulder will go up by 50 cents per hour effective Jan. 2.

According to a news release, the increase is based on performance-based pricing, an annual assessment of changing parking needs in the city. On-street parking rates are set for specific blocks based on demand in that area.

Some of the highest-demand areas, which will have the highest rates for parking, include stretches of 11th Street, 13th Street and West Pearl Street. These rates were calculated based on parking utilization changes from 2022 to 2023.

Rates for accessible parking spaces won’t be affected by these changes and will remain at $1.50 per hour. The rate changes also don’t apply to garage parking.
